  Elle est sans conteste l'une des géantes de la littérature américaine contemporaine. Susan Sontag (1933-2004), jeune fille surdouée mais peu sûre d'elle, animée par le désir farouche de s'inventer un personnage à la hauteur de ses aspirations, s'ingénia toute sa vie à bâtir sa propre mythologie.
